I will be creating online modules for professional writing courses. Individual modules could be specific to short graded assignments such as the resume or letter of application, or they could be more generic. The generic modules, on topics such as recognizing the need to adapt your writing to a specific audience, creating effective PowerPoint slides, or integrating visuals, will provide needed instruction for longer graded assignments. The modules will primarily involve independent reading and analysis of model documents, submission of a response (short answer, brief essay, multiple-choice quiz), immediate feedback on the response, and preparation for composition of longer writing assignments. All modules will consist of the same four-part framework, providing separate Web pages for Overview, Resources, Activities, and Wrap up for each topic. When complete, these modules will be made available to all instructors of professional writing courses or other instructors who want to provide additional instruction in writing to their students. The modules will be appropriate for use in traditional classroom or online courses.
